Trish Mandewo

Trish Mandewo is a multi-award-winning governance professional, entrepreneur, author, and speaker recognized for her transformative leadership in board governance and organizational development. With experience serving on more than 25 boards, she brings deep expertise in governance systems, board dynamics, and strategic leadership. 

Trish is a City Councillor for Coquitlam, Immediate Past President of the Union of BC Municipalities, Advisory Board Member at SFU Beedie School of Business and Vice Chair of WeBC. As co-Founder and CEO of Synergy on Boards Consulting Group, she partners with boards and leadership teams across Canada to strengthen governance frameworks, decolonize decision-making systems, and embed inclusion and belonging into organizational culture.  

An engaging facilitator and Keynote Speaker, Trish empowers boards to lead with integrity, accountability, and impact. Her early career in microbiology and embryology laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to evidence-based and people-centred leadership.

In 2025, Trish was honoured with several national and international awards, including the King Charles III Coronation Medal, Canada-wide Media – BC Business Woman of the Year, Canada’s Top 100 Accomplished Black Women, The CEO Magazine Global – Top 50 Women Over 50, and the FCM Pam McConnell Award for Gender Equality in International Development.

She is the author of Growth Strategies for the Hungry Entrepreneur and Follow the Railroad: A Journey of Hope and Opportunity (children’s book), with a new governance book forthcoming in 2026.
