‘Limitless Kids, Brighter Future’ | Diverse Abilities Programs Inc.

Location: Victoria

Until society knows how to interact with people who are blind, communicate with people who are deaf, understand that most disabilities are not apparent, and that accessibility is more than a parking spot, a bathroom, and a ramp we will never have inclusion; we will only continue to talk about it.

‘Limitless Kids, Brighter Future’ stands out as a unique resource for parents and educators because it combines foundational life skills with the powerful concepts of mindfulness, gratitude, and the Law of Attraction, all tailored specifically for children aged 3 to 7.

Written by early childhood educator Fatemeh Rafiie, this book goes beyond traditional teaching methods by integrating interactive exercises and real-life applications that help young children cultivate self-awareness, positivity, and a growth mindset. Unlike other children’s books, ‘Limitless Kids, Brighter Future’ provides a practical roadmap to instill confidence and resilience in children from a young age, empowering them with tools for lifelong emotional well-being and a limitless mindset.

Fable Book Parlour

Location: Revelstoke

The Fable Book Parlour’s mission is to provide Revelstoke with a thriving indie book and music store. Opening in 2021 after the previous bookstore in town closed, for the first four months the shop operated exclusively out of a bookmobile.

It is tricky to successfully operate niche stores in small towns, but feeling strongly that the town would support a bookstore, Fable Book Parlour saw an opportunity to put together two of the things they loved most in life: literature and music. Fable is a place where people come for book or music recommendations, artists and musicians meet and perform, people sit and play our store piano, buy books/vinyl, or simply relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

“Our aim is to provide an experience for our customers by creating a space that takes people away from the busy’ness of everyday life and transports them to a place of charm and whimsy. Our business has been a success not only because we’ve made smart business choices, but because our customers can feel how much we love it. In an industry with slim profit margins, innovation and creativity are key. We love coming up with new ideas to expand our business in novel (pun intended) ways and to always provide the very best customer experience,” says Stacy Batchelor, Co-owner.

This fall they also opened The Sound Cellar – a new project under the Fable umbrella that operates in a new location in downtown Revelstoke and hosts music lessons, live music, workshops, rehearsal sessions, amateur recording and special events.

“We’re excited to explore ideas like karaoke nights, ladies open-mic nights, drag performances, and low-pressure new performer nights,” says Stacy. “Oh-and the Fable Bookmobile is still around! We take it to music festivals in the summer-so far Salmon Arm Roots & Blues and Kaslo Jazz Fest.”
