With extensive work experience as a fundraiser, marketer, and volunteer manager, Kathleen Lemieux knows her way around the non-profit sector.
She understood the struggles of charity sector leaders who were stretched in a hundred different directions, facing day after day of too much work, and not enough time—especially throughout the dark days of the pandemic. She instinctively knew that she had the solution for these clients and, in May 2021, Do Gooders was born.
Do Gooders is a one-stop-shop for charities and not-for-profits. Kathleen and her team provide cost-effective, high-quality support in essential areas such as grant writing, fundraising, digital communication, and back-office support.
During the pandemic, Kathleen experienced a surge in demand for her services and had to quickly assemble a team of seven to serve her exhausted clients in the areas that were crucial to their charities’ survival.
With a growing business, Kathleen turned to WeBC’s Mentoring Program for support and guidance in her constantly changing role as a solopreneur.
“When I read the information about the Peer Mentoring program it seemed like a perfect fit for me. I would be able to be involved in the program via weekly Zoom meetings, and I immediately felt comfortable with the collaborative approach to learning from like-minded women entrepreneurs who were experiencing similar challenges.”
The team Kathleen has built over the last year-and-a-half provides impactful support for the organizations she serves.
She is extremely proud of all that Do Gooders has accomplished since launching eighteen months ago, and is looking forward to scaling her business to meet the needs of her clients for many years to come.
