Report by The Canadian Taskforce for Women’s Business Growth, October 2011


The Taskforce is a national, non-partisan consortium of women business owners, SME service agencies, academics, and industry associations.


In 2010 and 2011, the Taskforce held a series of roundtables across Canada inviting women business owners and self-employed workers, industry representatives and thought leaders to identify policies and programs to enable Canada to realize the full economic potential of women’s entrepreneurship.


The report provides a series of action strategies under 6 key focus areas: (1) a national women-focused economic development strategy; (2) access to markets and global growth; (3) supplier diversity (4) access to commercial capital (5) increased adoption of technology and (6) reporting and accountability on women’s enterprise support and programming.
